Watch Arian Foster use a British accent during interview [Video]
Houston Texans star running back Arian Foster turned a mundane interview session into a display of linguistics when he broke into a British accent.
He forewarned the media on Thursday that he’d be answering their questions in his “best English accent.”
While it might have been well-received by the reporters with whom he deals every day, reviews were mixed. The Texans, of course, tweeted “Cheerio, mate!”
A U.S.-based reporter for the Guardian of England called Foster’s effort “passable.” Although, the reporter added, Foster “could probably just about get away with ordering a pint in a London pub if he spoke very quickly and mumbled a lot.”
Foster, who has battled a groin injury the last few weeks, is one of the most versatile running backs in the NFL. He has rushed for 901 yards and seven touchdowns this season while catching 31 passes for 255 yards and four more scores.
The Texans are still fighting for a playoff spot with a record of 6-6. They have a good chance to add a victory when they play the the 2-10 Jaguars at 10 a.m. on Sunday in Jacksonville.
