British Open: Watch Thomas Bjorn’s shot break ESPN camera lens
- Share via
Is there a Best Buy anywhere near the site of the British Open? Because ESPN needs a new camera.
Thomas Bjorn was on the first hole of the second round of the tournament Thursday, playing his second shot out of the rough. Several yards down the fairway, ESPN focused one of its TV cameras on Bjorn, ready to show his shot to the world.
Bjorn swings, the ball flies, and wham, breaks the camera lens. You can see it all in the video above.
Cameras like the one ESPN uses cost approximately $80,000, which would make for a heck of a restocking fee if ESPN decides to trade it in for a new one.
