Broncos Coach John Fox, who has been recovering from heart surgery in North Carolina, plans to return to Denver this week, but it’s unclear when he’ll resume coaching, according to a Denver Post report.
The Post’s Mike Klis, citing a team source, said Fox and his wife, Robin, will return Wednesday on the jet of Broncos owner Pat Bowlen. It hasn’t been determined when he will resume his role as coach, the report said.
Fox underwent heart-valve replacement surgery Nov. 4 after falling ill on a Charlotte, N.C., golf course during his team’s bye week. Originally, he had planned to have the surgery after the season.
The Broncos were 7-1 under Fox, and won their first two games under interim Coach Jack Del Rio before losing Sunday night at New England. They play at Kansas City on Sunday, facing the Chiefs for the second time in three weeks.
