Ex-Cowboy Dennis Morgan dies after heart attack at Dallas-New York Giants game

Dennis Morgan, who played for the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles, died Sunday after suffering a heart attack at MetLife Stadium during the Cowboys’ game against the New York Giants. He was 63.
New Jersey State Police told the Associated Press that Morgan went into cardiac arrest at the game and was taken to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Morgan played with the Cowboys in 1974 under Hall of Fame Coach Tom Landry, though the team failed to reach the playoffs. He retired after spending the 1975 season with the Eagles.
Over two seasons, Morgan appeared in 17 games as a kick returner.

In 1974, he returned a punt 98 yards for a touchdown against the St. Louis Cardinals, which stands as a Cowboys team record and is tied for the third longest in NFL history. He was waived by the Cowboys the following August, in 1975.
In all, he had 992 yards on 42 kickoff returns and 347 yards on 27 punt returns.
Morgan was drafted in the 10th round out of Western Illinois in 1974.
