Mike Zimmer was having a rough week.

After his Minnesota Vikings suffered a 38-7 loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, he and the rest of his coaching staff stayed at the team’s facility all night because they had to start getting ready for the next game, against the Arizona Cardinals just four days later.

Things didn’t get any better even when Zimmer finally headed out.

“I went to McDonald’s on the way home because I was hungry and ordered two cheeseburgers and I only got one,” he said Tuesday. “That’s the kind of week it’s been.”

He then quipped that the servers probably recognized him as the coach whose team had just laid a huge egg the day before. “That’s probably why I only got one,” he said.

Maybe not. McDonald’s Minnesota heard about the snub, as well as the rest of Zimmer’s recent misfortunes, and announced Wednesday that it was going to try to remedy the situation.

We’ll see on “Thursday Night Football” whether the coach’s fortunes have turned around.
