Rivals.com starts tracking two sixth-grade football recruits

Share

Recruiting website Rivals.com has found two great young prospects.

Emphasis on the word young.

The site has started tracking two members of the Class of 2021 -- a.k.a. kids who won’t be graduating for another six years.

Running back Tyson Thornton of Springfield, Mass., and quarterback Daron Bryden of Enfield, Conn., became the firsrt sixth-graders to be added to the Rivals.com recruiting database after their impressive showings at the recent NextGen Boston football camp for middle school players.

“Both of these young players were so impressive they were moved up to compete against the eighth-grade prospects,” the website wrote of Thornton and Bryden.

Thornton is listed as “a 5-foot-11, 167-pound running back with great explosiveness and surprisingly good body control for a kid his size and age.”

And Bryden is said to be “a small quarterback with a big arm ... incredibly composed and very polished -- and he can make every throw.”

I guess this is the wave of the future, start tracking these kids as early as possible.

In that case, wait til you hear about the kid I saw the other day. What an arm -- you should see how far he can throw his binky. And I just know he’s going to be a great runner, too ... just as soon he masters walking.

You might want to keep an eye on this kid for the Class of 2033.
