This is a big week. Big, big week. Even after a slew of injuries, Texas is still UCLA’s biggest non-conference opponent, and AT&T Stadium is a heck of a road venue to play in. We’ll know a lot more about this football team after Saturday.

Lots of action on the blog and in print today, starting with a story about Jim Mora and how his team dealt with the initial hype of this season, then a quick hitter about Jake Brendel being completely healthy, a notebook from Chris Foster, and a feature on Kenny Clark from columnist Helene Elliott.

And as always, some quotes for your Hump Day:

Coach Jim Mora

On wide receiver Kenneth Walker III, who caught a touchdown against Memphis: “He’s got feet wet, yeah, and he’s on that scouting report now. When he comes out there, they might back up a little bit. Maybe that will open some things up for him underneath.”

On his wide receiving corps: “As we continue to develop more weapons, the problems for the coaches is how do you get the ball to all these guys? But hopefully it creates problems for our opponents as well.”

Redshirt junior center Jake Brendel

On his return against Memphis: “It felt really good. It’s always nice to be out at the field with my brothers.”

Sophomore linebacker Deon Hollins

On getting pressure on Texas: “We’re just staying focused on us, staying simple and doing what we
do. I don’t feel like we have to invent anything.”
