USC interim Coach Clay Helton aims to continue building a case for getting the job permanently Saturday when the Trojans play Arizona at the Coliseum.
USC is 2-1 under Helton, 5-3 overall and 3-2 in the Pac-12 Conference. The Trojans defeated California, 27-21, last week in Berkeley.
Arizona is 5-4 and 2-4 after losing to Washington, 49-3, last week in Seattle.
USC could be without several starters, including receivers JuJu Smith-Schuster and Darreus Rogers, linebacker Cameron Smith and safety Leon McQuay III.
Smith-Schuster underwent surgery on his hand earlier in the week and was scheduled to be fitted for a soft cast for the game, Helton said Thursday.
Rogers and Smith have hamstring issues and McQuay suffered a knee strain during practice.
Arizona has defeated USC only twice since 2001.
The game is schedule to kick off at 7:30 p.m. and will be broadcast on ESPN.
