USC is scheduled to play at 10th-ranked Arizona on Saturday.

But Coach Steve Sarkisian and quarterbacks coach Clay Helton are taking an early trip to the Grand Canyon State.

Sarkisian and Helton are scheduled to be in Scottsdale on Thursday night to see Saguaro High receiver Christian Kirk play against Williams Field High.

Kirk, 5-foot-10 and 190 pounds, has amassed monstrous statistics in six games, according to Max Preps.

He has rushed for 480 yards and eight touchdowns in 45 carries, and has 29 receptions for 590 yards and 10 touchdowns.

In August, Kirk trimmed his list of more than 40 scholarship offers down to USC, UCLA, Arizona State, Auburn, Ohio State and Texas A&M.

He is scheduled to make an official visit to USC in November.

Sarkisian and Helton are expected to return to Los Angeles late Thursday night, and depart for Tucson with the Trojans on Friday.
