Tate Martell, considered a top quarterback in the 2017 recruiting class, announced his favorite schools on Sunday.

“Top 5 schools (No Order) 1. Alabama 2. Washington 3. USC 4. Texas A&M 5. Michigan,” Martell wrote on Twitter, adding that he would release his commitment date soon.

Martell, 5 feet 10 and 190 pounds, committed to Washington and former Huskies Coach Steve Sarkisian in 2012, when he was entering the eighth grade.

However, Martell withdrew his commitment to Washington last January and has since been considered a USC lean, with Sarkisian now coach of the Trojans.

Martell is a product of quarterbacks coach Steve Clarkson, who also instructed former Trojans Matt Cassel, Matt Leinart, Matt Barkley and USC third-year sophomore Max Browne,

Martell passed for 2,537 yards and 40 touchdowns, with two interceptions, as a sophomore at Las Vegas Bishop Gorman High last season. He also rushed for 433 yards and five touchdowns.

USC also is recruiting 2017 quarterback Tua Tagavailoa from St. Louis School in Hawaii.
