Former USC linebacker Willie McGinest has been elected to the New England Patriots Hall of Fame, the team announced Tuesday.

The Patriots selected McGinest with the fourth pick in the 1994 draft.

McGinest played 12 of his 15 NFL seasons with the Patriots, helped them to three Super Bowl victories and was a two-time Pro Bowl selection.

“Willie played a critical role in transforming us from a cellar dweller into a championship-caliber team,” Patriots owner Robert Kraft told Patriots.com.

McGinest’s 78 sacks rank third in Patriots’ history.

He is currently an analyst on NFL Network and will be inducted this summer.
