Alaska introduces Spanish-language website
TravelAlaska.com, the official website of a state that attracts 6% of its international visitors from Mexico, has introduced a Spanish-language version of its website.
Spanish-speaking travelers can now plan a trip to Alaska by visiting Travel Alaska. The Spanish-language website complements the English, German, Japanese, Korean and Chinese language sites already offered by Alaska, said Jesse Carlstrom, a development specialist with Alaska’s Tourism Department.
“Marketing to Mexico and a Spanish-speaking audience is new for Alaska, Carlstrom said of the site introduced last month, “but we want to make Alaska more accessible to all markets.”
Alaska is also after a U.S. market. “Spanish is the second most spoken language in the U.S., and we want to make Alaska more accessible to Spanish-speaking households throughout the U.S,” Carlstrom said.
