Australia: Venture into the outback on a farm stay and bush tour
- Share via
You’ve seen the sights of Sydney, Australia, and baked at nearby Bondi Beach. Now where? Aussie Farmstay & Bush Adventures can help you escape the city and venture into the Australian bush with its four-day/three-night Venture West Tour.
The highlight is a farm stay on a historic sheep farm, where the hosts will introduce you to sheep mustering and shearing — and you can lend a hand. Other stops include a tour of Abercrombie Caves, a walk in Blue Mountains National Park and a visit to the historic mining town and artists village of Hill End.
Guests stay one night in a country pub in the historic town of Mudgee, camp under the stars at the sheep farm, and spend another night in a mountain cottage. Travel is by minibus with a luggage and kitchen trailer. Along the way, you’ll eat traditional Aussie bush tucker, or food, such as billy tea, Anzac biscuits and kangaroo meat.
Dates: Departs Sydney at 8 a.m. every Sunday; other departure days can be arranged for groups of three or more. Maximum of 11 guests per departure.
Price: About $910 for adults, $575 for children age 16 and younger. Includes all transportation, transfers from Sydney, all accommodations and activities (except horseback riding), all meals (except one dinner).
