Each year Coastal Living magazine builds a house that’s meant to showcase the best and brightest in decor and design for those, well, living on the coast. This year the magazine built its 28th show home, the first one in California.

“Coronado Beach with its stunning coastal views and relaxed, small-town feel is the perfect location to bring our brand to life,” the magazine‘s editor-in-chief Antonia van der Meer says in a statement. L.A.-based Burnham Design did the interiors, Dorian Lytle of Flagg Coastal Homes designed the outside.

The house at 100 Ocean Blvd. has four bedrooms in 4,500 square feet and is built on oceanfront property with a style described as “effortlessly chic.” It will be featured in the October issue of the magazine.

For those who want to make a weekend of it, the historic Hotel del Coronado offers a Coastal Living Showhouse package that includes a room, two tickets, bike rental and ice cream. Prices start at $369 a night (plus $25 resort fee and taxes) and is good for stays July 14-Sept. 30.
