L.A.’s airport is out to be a holiday booster not buster this season. I’m not suggesting that anyone trudge out to LAX just to partake; I offer these passenger pick-me-ups as a way to make the going and coming easier.

--Gift-wrapping:Southwest Airlines employees will be wrapping presents for ticketed passengers for free from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday at Gate 4 in Terminal 1 at Los Angeles International Airport. The airline partners with the Container Store to help passengers arrive at their destination with gifts intact during the holiday travel crush. Four Container Store gift cards and one round-trip Southwest airline ticket will be given away as prizes during the day.

--Holiday concerts: L.A. Times Travel Editor Catharine Hamm wrote about the Transportation Security Administration Chorus raising their voices in song, not consternation, at LAX on Tuesday. You can catch the repeat performance at noon Thursday in the Tom Bradley Terminal. Also, a choir performs at 1 p.m. Friday at Terminal 1. (Concerts are held in publicly accessible areas.)

--Santa’s here: Santa Claus will be in the building and roaming airport terminals on Thursday and Friday.

And for those who still don’t know, wrapped presents are a no-no at TSA security checkpoints. (So are snow globes, wrapped or unwrapped, in your carry-on bag.) Check out these TSA holiday travel tips.
