If you’re going to read a book underwater, “One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish” might be the perfect selection. That’s what’s happening Saturday at the Sea Life Carlsbad Aquarium when a diver will plunge to the bottom of the 200,000-gallon aquarium to read the Dr. Seuss classic.

And it won’t sound like a bunch of glub, glub, glubs. Aquarium spokeswoman Crystal Kranz explains that the diver wears a two-way communication mask that allows visitors to hear the story -- and ask questions from the other side of the glass. There will be two underwater storytelling sessions Saturday: “Red Fish, Blue Fish” at 10:30 a.m. and “Wish for a Fish” at 2 p.m.

This marks the second year the aquarium has held such readings in honor of World Oceans Day, which actually falls on Wednesday. Aside from the readings, kids are invited to take make a fish ornament and tour displays about ocean conservation.

The events are included in the aquarium admission price of $20 for adults and $13 for children 3 to 12 (includes tax). The aquarium is at the Legoland Resort in Carlsbad, Calif.
