Highlights: A parade, music and dance performances, a genealogy area, a dog show, hurling and Gaelic football games, an art show, merchants selling imports, plus Ireland-inspired food and beer.
Cost: $18 ($15 advance); $15 for students and ages 62 and older ($12 advance); free for ages 12 and younger and for active-duty military in uniform and their families

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series
When, where: June 24-26, Infineon Raceway
Highlights: Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart and defending champion Jimmie Johnson duke it out on the course. Also that weekend in Sonoma: Thunder Valley Casino Resort’s 200 NASCAR K&N Pro Series West event.

MOAB, UTAH
Raft for the Cure
When, where: June 25, Colorado River (check in at the Moab Adventure Center)
Highlights: Raft the Colorado during this annual fundraising event to benefit breast cancer research; included in the registration fee is a full day of river rafting, plus lunch, dinner, a concert and more.
Cost: $100 ($85 for ages 5-15), includes all of the above, plus round-trip transportation from Moab Adventure Center and a commemorative T-shirt and wristband; proceeds benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Picasso: Masterpieces from the Musée National Picasso, Paris
