Airfare sale: $830 round-trip L.A. to London on Air New Zealand

Air New Zealand marks 30 years of flying from Los Angeles to London with an offer of special airfares in all classes. Prices start at $830 round-trip in coach, a good post-Olympics price for those of us who have watched summer airline ticket prices to England and Europe remain high. The deal is good until Monday, so book quickly if you want to go.

The deal: Flights go from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to Heathrow Airport in London (LHR) for $830 in economy class, $1,406 in premium economy and $3,030 in business premier. The price includes taxes and fees. In conjunction with the sale, the airline launched a 30th Anniversary London Sweepstakes on its Facebook page where you can enter to win a London vacation (airfare included).

When: The deal is good through Monday for travel Oct. 3-Nov. 30 and Jan. 14-March 20.

Tested: I checked a bunch of dates -- including Oct. 10-17 and March 5-12 -- and found the $830 airfare available. As a comparison, L.A.-London round-trip airfare on nonstop flights on the same October dates start at more than $1,000 on other airlines, according to Kayak.com.
