Las Vegas: Vintage car sale helps Southern Nevada’s Make-a-Wish

Share

If you’re still searching for the perfect holiday gift, a visit to a sale of vintage automobiles (including an aqua 1955 Cadillac valued at $30,000) Saturday in Las Vegas may provide some inspiration.

Best of all, buyers will be helping fulfill the dreams of seriously ill children. Ten percent of the proceeds will be donated to the Make-a-Wish Foundation of Southern Nevada.

The one-day car show and sale will feature vehicles owned by The Amazing Johnathan, a comedian/magician who performs nightly at Bally’s. He has amassed a fleet of 27 rare vehicles, including a 1932 Pierce Arrow.

That vintage vehicle isn’t among those being sold, but a yellow 1959 Caddy two-door coupe and a cream-colored 1964 Lincoln Continental will be offered. The Amazing Johnathan, whose real name is John Edward Szeles, employs a full-time mechanic to service his fleet, so all the cars are in good working condition. They’ll be priced at current market value.

The show and sale will be held 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at The Amazing Johnathan’s customized auto warehouse at 6290 Harrison Drive in Las Vegas. That’s about half a mile east of McCarran International Airport.

There will be a live radio broadcast from the sprawling warehouse, which looks like an old drive-in movie theater. Several food trucks will also be dishing up street eats.

Photos of the cars can be viewed online via Facebook.
