It’s winter, so let the snow play begin. The ski-in, ski-out Resort at Squaw Creek at Lake Tahoe offers a family package starting at $299 a night that adds skiing, skating and sledding to room amenities.

The deal: The offer is good for a room that accommodates two adults and two children 12 and younger. Included in the package are free ice skating and skate rentals, free sledding and one free child’s lift ticket (12 and younger) for Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows.

The deal requires a two-night minimum stay; prices start at $299 a night midweek and $349 a night on weekends. Use the code “KIDPLAYRSC” when making a reservation.

When: The offer is good Jan. 8-April 12, with some blackout dates.

Tested: I found availability for a Deluxe Forest View Queen Room (good for two adults and two children) for $299 plus tax and fees for Feb. 13-15. Daily rate for the same room on the same nights costs $299 plus tax, so best to get the extra goodies that come with this package.

The resort fee tacks on $19 a night and covers 30 minutes of local phone calls, Wi-Fi, in-room coffee and teas, shuttle service to Squaw Valley and use of the resort’s health club, pool and Jacuzzi.
