Hawaiian tops on-time rankings

Hawaiian Airlines, with a history of strong on-time performance due in part to operating in weather-friendly routes, topped other domestic airlines in on-time arrival percentages through September of this year, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics announced this week. The airline had a 93% on-time arrival rate, meaning 98% of its flights arrived within 15 minutes of their scheduled times. Alaska was second with a 88% rate, and AirTran was third at 87%. The average for all airlines was 82%.
