Wednesday Travel Ticker: Super Bowl tickets drop

Tickets for the Super Bowl between the Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers are down almost 12% on the resale market from last year’s game, to an average of $3,278.39, the Bloomberg news service reports. There are about 4,200 tickets on the secondary market for the Feb. 3 game at the Superdome in New Orleans, according to ticket-aggregator TiqIQ . . . . Treasure Island is the site of the Daily Racing Form/NTRA National Handicapping Championship Friday and Saturday in Las Vegas. Almost 500 top horse race handicappers from throughout the country will compete for a prize pool of $1.5 million. The winner takes home $750,000 . . . . One of the nation’s greatest celebrations of the American West, the National Cowboy Poetry Gathering, takes place Jan. 28 to Feb. 2, in Elko, Nev.
