Utah: Snowbird resort offers discounts on lodging

With 104 inches of snow falling in Utah’s Little Cottonwood Canyon during December and more since the start of the new year – for a total of 15-plus feet – it’s been a grand start to 2013 at Snowbird outside Salt Lake City.

So, officials are celebrating with a January White Sale, with discounts on its lodging packages.

Here are three examples:

The Ski Free & Stay the Fifth Night for Free deal has rates starting at $125 a night for bedroom and studio units. The offer is valid until March 31.

The Early Week Stay & Ski package has rates beginning at $119 a night. The offer is good for Sundays-Thursdays until March 28, with Feb. 17-21 blacked out. Lift tickets are included with both offers. (A daily adult ducat costs $85.)

For those who like kicking back after a day on the slopes, the luxurious Spa Summit Package is Snowbird’s ultimate long-weekend getaway. The resort has sweetened what it calls “this already sugary deal” with daily custom massages, spa access and lunchtime dining at the Seven Summits Lounge.

The Spa Summit Package also includes a private shuttle to and from the airport. Rates start at $365 a night and vary based on the date. There is also a three-night minimum. None of the packages includes taxes or resort fees.
