Canada: Sunwolf offering discounts on raft trips

Share

Outdoor enthusiasts headed for British Columbia this summer can get a 20% discount if they sign up with Sunwolf for midweek rafting and family adventure outings on the Elaho and Cheakamus rivers near Squamish.

Called the “Elaho River Experience” and the “Family Scenic Float,” these midweek deals include a rafting trip, one night’s accommodation in a riverside cabin and a barbecue. With the discount, the packages start at $264 for two.

Sunwolf is in the heart of British Columbia’s Coast Mountains at the confluence of the Cheakamus and Cheekye rivers, 45 minutes from downtown Vancouver and 30 minutes from the Whistler resort.

Eleven private cabins line the riverbank at Sunwolf and each features hardwood floors, vaulted ceilings, a gas fireplace and en-suite shower. With a fire pit, volleyball net, lawn space for games, hot tub and barbecue area, there’s plenty to do at Sunwolf. Guests also can spend time exploring the woodland trails beneath Mt. Alpha.

The midweek package lets guests choose their rafting experience:

On the Elaho River Expedition, you paddle your way through spectacular scenery on nearly a dozen miles of nearly continuous whitewater. The Elaho Valley is an unspoiled wilderness, with old-growth forests, cascading waterfalls and two class IV (difficult) rivers. The full-day Elaho River Expedition includes a gourmet salmon barbecue on a private beach and snacks at the end of the day, full wetsuit, gear and professional river guide.

If white-water rafting isn’t what you’re seeking, Sunwolf offers a mellower trip down the Cheakamus. You’ll float on crystal-clear waters through Paradise Valley, a haven for black bear, cougar, deer, coyote and a variety of waterfowl.

The Scenic Family Float is a gentle rafting trip, with views of the Tantalus Mountains and several small rapids. The trip includes tea, coffee or hot chocolate on arrival, homemade snacks at the end of the trip, full wetsuit, gear and professional river guide.
