R. Kelly, Babyface and Common to headline Soul Train Awards in Las Vegas

Rapper and R&B singer R. Kelly, R&B performer Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds and hip-hop star Common come together for the Soul Train Weekend Concert on Nov. 7 at Mandalay Bay Events Center.

The concert is all part of the Soul Train Awards, which return to Las Vegas Nov. 5 to 7 with an entire weekend of events. The three-day celebration includes performances, tributes and more with the awards headed to the Orleans Arena on Nov. 6 at a private event.

Former basketball player Kelly’s hit singles include “Bump N’ Grind,” “Your Body’s Calling,” “I Believe I Can Fly,” “If I Could Turn Back the Hands of Time” and “The World’s Greatest.”

His hip-hop and R&B influences helped him with three Grammy Awards in 1998 for “I Believe I Can Fly.”

Babyface has 11 Grammy Awards to his credit. His most recent album featured duets with Toni Braxton.

Common most recently won a 2015 Golden Globe Award for best original song and an Academy Award for best original song this year for “Glory” from the film “Selma.” He also appeared in the film about the 1960s civil rights movement as James Bevel.
