Two Las Vegas beer festivals focus on craft brews in April

Beer me. April brings two beer festivals to Las Vegas with craft brews from the smaller breweries nationwide.

Nevada’s largest craft beer event, the 2015 Great Vegas Festival of Beer, comes to downtown Las Vegas on Saturday, April 11. More than 5,000 beer fans will be on hand to sample 300-plus brews from more than 100 different breweries.

The event includes a cider station, celebrity chefs, live entertainment, a silent disco, human arcade and more.

Beer-inspired menus come from Las Vegas restaurants including DW Bistro, Lulu’s Bread & Breakfast, Stack Restaurant & Bar and Naked City Pizza.

Local Las Vegas bands Josh Royse and Brumby provide the live music, while a Human Arcade brings classic childhood party games such as corn hole, life-size checkers, beer pong and more.

Tickets are $40 for general admission and $50 for early entry.

A smaller event, the Vegas Beer & Music Festival, comes to Foxtail Pool Club at SLS Las Vegas on Friday, April 3. More than 50 craft beers will be on tap from breweries in Las Vegas and Southern California such as Stone Brewing Co., Hofbräuhaus Las Vegas, College Street Brewhouse, Dirty Tequila and Geisha House.

Live music comes from pop and rock band Falling Doves and the “One-Man Dance Party” Dan Fester, while a fashion show by Romantic Rock features bikinis.

Every guest gets free VIP access to an after-party at Life Nightclub.

Tickets start at $35; VIP tickets offer early access for $50.
