Boyd picked up the guitar and started singing at age 4 in his hometown of Mesquite, Texas. He moved to Nashville with hopes of making it big nearly 10 years ago.
He did, in a sense, as a songwriter and then opening for singers Randy Houser, Jamey Johnson and Brantley Gilbert for four years before appearing on the show.
Since winning the $100,000 prize and recording contract in December, Boyd released "I'm Still Here" and should release his first album by this November.
It includes his debut single "My Baby's Got a Smile on Her Face," a song originally written for Shelton and given to Boyd to perform during the finals on "The Voice." The song hit No. 1 on Billboard's Hot Country Singles, was an instant fan favorite and locked the win for the singer.
Tickets start at $20 and go on sale Friday.
