Mariah Carey’s 18-date residency debuts in Las Vegas
Reporting from Las Vegas — Singer Mariah Carey debuted her residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace on Wednesday night with singer Anita Baker and chairman and CEO of Epic Records Antonio “L.A.” Reid in the sold-out crowd.
Her show “Mariah #1 To Infinity” takes fans through 18 of her No. 1 hits, performed in chronological order to give fans a progression of her 18-year career. Songs such as “Vision of Love,” “Hero,” “Fantasy,” “We Belong Together” and “Touch My Body” are among the hits Carey sings for this 18-date show.
On stage is a marriage of Carey and Vegas glitz and glamour. A six-piece live band, three back-up vocals, two deejays and 10 dancers choreographed by Nappytabs, the double Emmy Award-winning married choreographers Tabitha D’umo and Napoleon D’umo, bring this big show to life.
Carey caps off the shows with the release of her first album with Epic Records dubbed “Mariah Carey #1 To Infinity” that mimics the show with a chronological collection of her 18 Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 singles, 17 self-penned. That’s more than any solo artist in history. The album arrives in stores Monday, May 18, with her newest song “Infinity” as the final track on the collection as it is in the show.
Tickets start at $55.
