From the Archives: Huntington Beach oil field
Aug. 2, 1966: Signal Oil production rigs line Pacific Coast Highway for about a mile between Huntington Beach and Seal Beach.

This photo appeared in the Aug. 7, 1966, Los Angeles Times accompanying an article on the merger of Signal Oil & Gas with the Garrett Corp. In 1968, the combined company renamed itself The Signal Cos.
In 1985 Signal merged with Allied Corp. In 1999, Allied-Signal Inc. acquired Honeywell and took the name.
