Leah Remini lands reality show on TLC

Following her very public separation from the Church of Scientology, television personality Leah Remini is getting her own reality show on TLC.

The 12-episode series will follow the former “King of Queens” actress in her home life, the network said in an announcement Wednesday.

“Leah is a no-nonsense, hard-working, relatable mom, wife, daughter, and sister. Her sharp humor and unfiltered family are a perfect match for the network,” Nancy Daniels, the network’s general manager, said in a statement. “This series continues our focus on creating compelling series about remarkable families, using heart and humor to anchor it to the TLC brand.”

The 43-year-old actress is used to putting herself out there -- previously serving as a co-host on CBS gabfest “The Talk” and having co-produced and starred in specials for VH1 about her nuptials and having a baby. As of late, Remini has made headlines due to her split with Scientology and subsequent claims about the church.

Production on the the untitled half-hour began Wednesday and is slated for a summer rollout.
