Gap announced via a news release that it is launching two limited-edition T-shirts in honor of Jimi Hendrix’s 70th birthday. The tees incorporate artwork from the new “People, Hell and Angels” album, made up of recordings from 1969, the year Gap was founded. The tees, for men and women, are priced at $29.95 and will be available in the United States on Tuesday at gap.com and on March 15 in stores.

Jeffrey Lubbell’s contract as top executive at True Religion Apparel will not be renewed before it expires in June because the company is seeking a buyer and it wouldn’t be appropriate to lock in a lengthy contract, according to a company filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. [WWD]

Conde Nast International has taken a $20-million stake in e-commerce site Farfetch.com, an online marketplace for independent fashion boutiques. Farfetch also signed two new highly-regarded boutiques, Fivestory in NYC and A’maree’s in Newport Beach. [WWD] (Subscription required.)
