The Envelope , the Los Angeles Times entertainment awards insider, today announced it will assemble six of 2012's most admired filmmakers for its fourth annual Directors Roundtable on December 14. Ben Affleck ("Argo"), Kathryn Bigelow ("Zero Dark Thirty"), Sacha Gervasi ("Hitchcock"), Tom Hooper ("Les Misérables"), Ang Lee ("Life of Pi") and David O. Russell ("Silver Linings Playbook") will join film writer John Horn at The Times' historic downtown building for a candid, closed-door conversation about their acclaimed films.

Earlier in the season, The Envelope held its first Animation Roundtable, expanding its slate of unique events and video coverage in preparation for today's issue highlighting animation, songs, scores, effects and crafts. Several of the medium's most groundbreaking storytellers, Mark Andrews ("Brave"), Chris Butler ("ParaNorman"), Rich Moore ('Wreck-It Ralph"), Peter Ramsey ("Rise of the Guardians") and Genndy Tartakovsky ("Hotel Transylvania"), are featured in a lively and illuminating dialogue moderated by The Times' Rebecca Keegan, also made available today.

"As Hollywood's hometown news source, we're thrilled to draw many of 2012's most talked-about filmmakers for these compelling behind-the-scenes chats," said The Envelope Editor Elena Howe. "The Envelope provides the industry and fans with indispensable and comprehensive entertainment awards coverage and insight into the creative processes behind the year's best movies."

The sixth annual Envelope Screening Series is again showcasing awards hopefuls to guild and Academy voters at ArcLight Cinemas Sherman Oaks this year, followed by post-screening Q&A's with casts and filmmakers. A pre-release showing of "Les Misérables" and what promises to be a revealing Q&A with Hooper and stars Hugh Jackman, Anne Hathaway, Amanda Seyfried and Eddie Redmayne moderated by The Times' Nicole Sperling will conclude this year's series. Previous participating films have gone on to receive 149 Academy Award, 104 Golden Globe and 76 BAFTA nominations and included the four most recent Best Picture Oscar winners.

Full coverage of the Directors Roundtable including feature stories, video and photos will debut at the end of the year at latimes.com/theenvelope. EPIX, the title sponsor, official broadcaster and streaming provider for the event will also make footage available across all its platforms - on air, on demand, online and on EPIX apps.
