1 dead in Santa Paula helicopter crash
At least one person is confirmed dead after authorities say a helicopter crashed Friday in the Santa Clara River near the city of Santa Paula.
Power lines in the area also are down, and firefighters are attempting to put out a small fire in the area, said Ventura County Fire spokesman Bill Nash.
Nash said units from the Santa Paula and Ventura County fire departments and a sheriff’s department helicopter are searching for any additional victims who may have been ejected from the helicopter.
He had no additional information about the deceased person or about the cause of the crash.
