Detectives investigating deadly shooting in South L.A.

One person was shot and killed Thursday at 108th Street and Western Avenue in an unincorporated area in South Los Angeles, authorities said.

The victim, described by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department as a male juvenile, was shot about 1:20 p.m.

He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said it had no additional information about the incident or the victim as of late Thursday afternoon. Homicide detectives were at the scene.
