Two men were wounded early Friday after a gunman fired at least two shots outside a popular Hollywood nightclub known for its young celebrity clientele, authorities said.

A fight began on the sidewalk outside Les Deux Cafe, on the 1600 block of North Las Palmas Avenue , and spilled into a parking lot about 2 a.m., police said. One victim is a security guard, LAPD Officer April Harding said.

He was treated at a hospital for minor injuries and released. The second man, who was not identified, remained hospitalized and was being treated for a gunshot wound to the stomach.

The gunman fled, Harding said.

The French-themed cafe and club is a popular hangout for celebrities such as Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears.

It frequently has been used for after-parties following events such as the Emmy Awards.

A club manager on duty at the time of the shooting said the altercation did not involve Les Deux patrons and occurred outside the building.

“It had absolutely nothing to do with Les Deux,” said the manager, who did not give his name.
