AT THE PLATE: Andre Ethier hit his first home run of the spring. Juan Uribe, who batted .204 in his first season with the Dodgers last year, reached base in both of his plate appearances. Uribe singled to left in the second inning and drew a walk in the fourth. Leadoff hitter Dee Gordon demonstrated his speed in the first inning when he hit a grounder to first baseman Brett Pill but beat pitcher Barry Zito to first base for an infield hit.

ON THE MOUND: Ted Lilly served up two towering home runs in the first inning, including one to leadoff hitter Melky Cabrera that went out of the ballpark. Lilly was charged with three runs in the first inning and two more in the second. Lilly said he had trouble locating his fastball, which resulted in his throwing more than his usual share of breaking pitches. (Both home runs came on fastballs.) Lilly gave up 28 home runs last season but didn’t serve up any to the final 170 batters he faced. In his first appearance for the Dodgers in two years, Ronald Belisario gave up two hits in a scoreless inning. Ramon Troncoso, who is out of options and can’t be sent to the minors without clearing waivers, gave up a home run to Cabrera in the sixth inning.

EXTRA BASES: The Dodgers will face Manny Ramirez on Wednesday, marking the first time they have seen him since they let him go to the Chicago White Sox on a waiver claim. Ramirez, who is in camp with the Oakland Athletics on a minor league contract, is still on the Dodgers’ payroll. He was listed as the Dodgers’ largest creditor when the team filed for bankruptcy last year. Ramirez was owed more than $21 million at the time of the filing.
