New York City has approved a plan that will allow riders to “e-hail” yellow cabs, starting Feb. 15 on a test basis. The smartphone-based system will be tried out for one year . . . . Michelangelo’s “David-Apollo” is being showcased at the National Gallery of Art to open a yearlong celebration of Italian culture in more than 30 U.S. cities. Lufthansa began commercial service of the Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental along the airline’s Frankfurt-to-LAX route this week.
