Police and Fire Department bomb experts made a sweep of Fashion Valley department stores early Thursday after a janitor at Neiman-Marcus found a phony bomb in a women’s restroom similar to one discovered at The Broadway on Wednesday. The search did not turn up any additional devices, San Diego Fire Department officials said. They said they believed the device found at Neiman-Marcus was planted at the same time as the one at The Broadway. The Animal Liberation Front, an animal rights group, claimed responsibility for planting the devices, both of which had notes attached saying, “This one is not a real bomb.” The Metro Arson Strike Team is continuing its investigation.
