Law enforcement agencies in San Diego and Riverside counties are seeking a 23-year-old transient in connection with at least 13 residential armed robberies in the two counties in 1984, said Bill Robinson, San Diego police spokesman. Gary Von Molling was named Friday by authorities who have issued arrest warrants with a total of $250,000 bail. Molling, who is believed to be armed with a 4-inch blue-steel revolver, is believed to be responsible for robberies in Rancho Bernardo, Vista, Escondido, Olivenhain, Carlsbad and Riverside County. The victims, who were mostly senior citizens, told police that the bandit would enter their homes and rob them at gunpoint. Robinson said Molling is 6 feet, 145 pounds, with brown hair and eyes and has decaying bottom teeth. He also has a scar on his right forearm near the elbow. There is a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest or conviction of the person responsible for the robberies.
