Footloose Rebuttal

I cannot believe it! John Edward Rollins’ gripe (Dec. 2) about Beverly Beyer’s and Ed Rabey’s columns prompts me to write my first letter to you. Although I can do little traveling now, I keep hoping to go. So I often cut out and save their informative, fascinating accounts of places I may never see. They are so good, I also use them to jog my happy memories of earlier travels.

The excellent Travel section with Jerry Hulse, Michele and Tom Grimm, Judith Morgan and other interesting writers gets saved to be read even it it’s weeks later. I have especially enjoyed the stories of memorable vacations you have added this past year.
