Aztecs’ Watson Wins WAC Honor
San Diego State guard Anthony Watson was named the Western Athletic Conference Player of the Week for his role in leading the Aztecs to road victories over Wyoming and Air Force.
Watson’s off-balanced 12-foot jump shot with 17 seconds to play provided the winning points in the Aztecs’ 60-57 win over Wyoming last Thursday. Watson scored 14 of his 16 points in the second half.
Against Air Force, Watson tied teammate Leonard Allen for game-high scoring honors with 20 points.
