A woman who says Muhammad Ali fathered her daughter and married her in a legally moot Islamic ceremony filed a paternity suit Thursday, demanding the former champion pay $4,487 a month in child support.

Aaisha Ali, 28, filed a $2-million “palimony” suit against the three-time world heavyweight boxing champion Dec. 19 in Montgomery County Superior Court in Philadelphia, Beverly Hills attorney Judith Forman said.

On Thursday--Ali’s 43rd birthday--Forman filed a complaint in Los Angeles Superior Court asking a judge to declare Ali the father of 10-year-old Khaliah Ali and order child support. A family court hearing was set for March 1, she said.

Ali spokesman Howard Bingham said the former champion does not dispute that he is the girl’s father.

In 1975, when Khaliah was 11 months old, Ali and the woman exchanged Islamic wedding vows in a ceremony at Miami Beach, Fla., Forman said. They never participated in a civil ceremony, she said.
