Elco Corp., a Newport Beach division of Gulf+Western Manufacturing Co., has entered into a license agreement with Ulti Mate Inc. of Orange to make and distribute microminiature connectors. The financial terms of the agreement were not announced.

Elco plans to diversify use of the connectors, which primarily are sold to the military, by marketing them in the telecommunications and computer industries.

The distribution of the Elco-manufactured connectors is expected to begin within the next few months at the company’s U.S., Japanese and European plants. Birtcher, a Santa Ana real estate developer, announced the completion of a $34 million, 26-acre high-technology park that includes a child care center. The Birtcher Orange County Technology Center, located near the intersection of Dyer Road and the 55 Freeway, contains 386,000 square feet of space in six, two-story buildings. The Santa Ana Redevelopment Agency has sold $19 million in tax allocations bonds to Merrill Lynch Capital Markets to finance the construction of a 50-acre auto mall. The officials of the Santa Ana Auto Mall already have leased seven of the nine auto dealership sites in the landscaped mall on land adjacent to the 55 Freeway at Edinger Avenue. Many dealerships are scheduled to open in the fall. The city anticipates $950,000 in annual sales tax revenues by its second year of the mall’s operation.
