Fire broke out in the basement of the Amfac Hotel near Los Angeles International Airport but it was quickly extinguished by Los Angeles firefighters. The firefighters said the blaze’s origin appeared suspicious. The fire at the hotel, located at 8601 S. Lincoln Blvd., was restricted to the basement. Damage was estimated at $500.
