Angelus League : Lewis Scores 33 Points to Lead Mater Dei Over St. Paul, 85-35

Top-ranked Mater Dei High School improved its record to 21-0 Friday night by routing St. Paul, 85-35, at Mater Dei.

The Monarchs (6-0 in league) led, 36-13, at halftime and usedevery player on the 15-man roster.

Mater Dei’s Tom Lewis scored 33 points in only 19 minutes to move past Crescenta Valley’s Bill Boyd into seventh place on the all-time Southern Section career points list with 2,179 points. Lewis also had 16 rebounds to move past Thurman Henderson of Perris into sixth place on the all-time rebounding list with a career total of 1,093.

Mike Mitchell added 16 points for Mater Dei and Tom Peaboy had 8 assists. Allen Adamson led St. Paul with 12.
