Mesa Women Defeat MiraCosta, 68-49
SAN DIEGO —
Stephanie Smith scored 18 points and pulled down 15 rebounds to lead the Mesa College women’s basketball team to a 68-49 victory over MiraCosta College in a Pacific Coast Conference game Wednesday night at Mesa.
The Olympians (6-2, 13-8 overall) took an early 21-4 lead in the contest because MiraCosta (4-5, 6-13) missed 19 of its first 20 shots from the field. Mesa, which led 37-19 at halftime, shot 58% (32-for-55) from the floor in the game.
