Prep Basketball BOYS : Channel Islands 56, Royal 47
The Raiders jumped out to a 15-8 lead in the first quarter and held on to win the Marmonte League game at Royal.
Channel Islands, which improved its league record to 6-4, got 14 points and nine rebounds from Sean Sisson and 12 points and eight rebounds from Paul Nunnery. It made 26 of 46 shots.
For Royal (9-12 overall, 4-6 in league), Brent Tapia scored 18 points and Joe Pugh had 16 points and eight rebounds. The Highlanders shot just 40% from the floor.
