O’Meara Will Compete in Ito Golf Tournament

TOKYO, Feb. 4 —
Mark O’Meara, winner of the $500,000 Bing Crosby National Pro-Am Sunday, will play in a $160,000 tournament in Japan in May.
The 28-year-old O’Meara, second top money earner in 1984, will be the only foreign pro to be invited to the annual Fuji Sankei Tournament to be held at the hotspring town of Ito, west of Tokyo, May 8-11.
The tournament, sponsored by the Sankei Shimbun newspaper, carries first prize money of $28,8000.
