The Region : Driver Dies as Car Topples Over Bridge
The driver of an out-of-control car died when the vehicle, which had come to rest precariously balanced halfway off a freeway bridge, plunged over the side after a passenger climbed out to inspect the damage, shifting the vehicle’s weight. Irene Kloris, 58, of La Habra, was killed in the 25-foot fall. Kloris had been driving southbound on the Golden State Freeway in Boyle Heights when she lost control of the small vehicle, authorities said. The passenger was identified as 59-year-old Jonas Kloris, the victim’s husband.
