USD’s Women End Season With Win

The University of San Diego women’s basketball team (14-13) completed its first winning season in its five years as a Division 1 team Saturday, with a 74-63 season-ending victory against visiting Northern Arizona.

Torero forward Cathy O’Brien scored 21 points and had a game-high 11 rebounds, and guard Mary Stanbra added 20 points. USD center Amy Hillenbrand had 12 points on 5-for-5 shooting from the field, plus two free throws. Northern Arizona (12-12) was led by Amber Rudiger’s 17 points.
